Kotkaniemi-Forum

Kotkaniemi-forum is an annual seminar featuring high-level speeches on current topics – security and Finnish sovereignty.

Kotkaniemi was the home of the former President of Finland, P.E. Svinhufvud (1861 – 1944), the key figure in the struggle for Finnish independency. Now Kotkaniemi is a home museum and conference venue. Kotkaniemi is located roughly 20 kilometres from the EU’s eastern border with Russia.

The Forum is organized in cooperation with the Kotkaniemi Foundation, the municipality of Luumäki and the Regional Council of South Karelia. The garden of Kotkaniemi on the shore of Lake Kivijärvi is the most beautiful venue for the Forum.

Kotkaniemi-forum is held next on 7th of August 2024 – during spring and summer 2024 we will update the program and how to follow the live stream of the event.
