Kotkaniemi – the home museum of
President P. E. Svinhufvud

Welcome to Kotkaniemi, the home of P. E. Svinhufvud, who was a central figure in the struggle for Finnish independence.

The museum is open throughout the year, with extended opening hours during the summer season.
Café Ellen is open during summer, and on request (for group visits, special occasions).

Please contact us if you wish to book a group visit (at least 5 days before the visit).

In addition to the home museum there is a café, conference premises, garden, nature trail and a lakeside sauna. Located amidst nature by Lake Kivijärvi in Luumäki, Kotkaniemi is roughly 20 kilometres from Lappeenranta.
